Pears and new prints

The run up to xmas has been pretty frantic and so I've missed out posting these new designs. The first is a larger version of my Pear Print design with a gorgeous mustard background.
This handprinted ModFlowers is normally on a bolster cushion but putting it on a square creates a greta banded effect.
and finally this is a neutral version of a ready made Swedish fabric that I use which is going down a storm over on Dawanda.

As we head towards xmas I'm counting the days till eldest is home from Uni (8 as of today) and praying that the snow we've had doesn't grind everything to a halt and block our journey.

I hope those of you that still read my blog are safe and well and looking forward to your own celebrations wherever you are xx

Pear Print Notebooks

I've been trying to get this design right for so long and then sometimes you just have to simplify it and it comes right.

Really pleased with how this looks and that Mustard colour is a winner!

The notebooks are available in my Etsy shop now and will be in my Not on The High Street shop next week!

As well as providing a unique xmas shopping event, all the profits from refreshments are donated to Ian Rennie Hospice at Home.

You can join us for a warm welcome from Friday 23rd 2 - 8pm, then Saturday 24 - Sunday 25 November 10am - 5pm

For more information about the artists and how to get there visit http://townfarmartshow.blogspot.co.uk/

Autumn Show - Upstairs Gallery

Open this week at the Upstairs Gallery in Berkhamsted, you can see and buy my new digitally printed work, including the purses from my previous post.

Also in the show are some fantastic local artists including Pam McMennamen, whose painting 'Pomegranate' has also been used on the show poster.

I'm also lusting after jewellery by Emily Collins and my friend Sue Edwards who has added some beautiful new designs to her range of silver jewellery which is sure to be popular again this xmas.

Yes I said it, Xmas!! it's on its way as my order book tells me and my stockists are now receiving their first orders of xmas stock.

If you are local don't hang about, these artists are on show till 27th October after which the gallery will be palying host to a one man show before a new selection of artists arrive for the xmas show in November.

Coin purses
I've been busy working away over the summer preparing for opening a new online shop. Orders to my outlets are heading out this week too, if you're a retail outlet and want details do drop me a line as orders are coming in thick and fast for xmas!
Zip purses
These are some of the new colourways and products I've been working on and they will gradually be added to my Etsy shop. I'm really loving this pale blue colourway however I use it, it looks perfect! and it's also been fun to scale down some of the designs into these mini prints.

A little sunshine

I'm finding this spot perfect when the sun shines and love having the grey linen cushion on the green linen covered chair that I refurbished a couple of years ago.

The flax fields here are in full bloom, a beautiful haze of blue, linen looks good from start to finish!

and the weather today.........

Some time back I printed up my seedhead and modflower designs in more restrained colours, must be all the grey clouds scudding about that have inspired this colour palette.
But there, a touch of yellow now and then just like our sun here in the UK struggling to show its face.
I do love this monochrome look though, some of these will be making an appearance here at home. Finally they are made up into covers and in my Etsy and Folksy shops.

What's new....

These are my latest items to find their way into my etsy shop and I am unspeakably excited with how they look. It's a great way to develop more complex designs by using digital printers and I'll be adding to these as time goes on.

V and A Pattern : Heals

This is due to be published in April this year and I've already got it on pre order

I have a large number of Heals vintage fabrics in my collection and am looking forward to finding yet more. Sadly the prices of such fabrics are going through the roof but it's not so surprising as the designs they commisioned throughout the 20th century have become design classics.
Available for pre order on Amazon

Dawanda bestsellers

After the wondeful publicity last week I am on the Dawanda newsletter today as one of the bestselling shops! I'm really thrilled as Dawanda is a great site and can be viewed in German French and English making it accessible across Europe. It has taken a good deal of work to get this shop established but I do love the dawanda site. very stylish and some great sellers as you can imagine I don't just sell on Dawanda.

Happy customers

I have had some very happy customers recently and really appreciate how many take the time to write and tell me how pleased they are with my cushions. This cushion has been selling at an amazing rate overnight and thanks to another customer I was able to find it featured here

Such a fantastic picture too don't you think? It has been selling from my Dawanda shop but is also available on Etsy and Folksy for international and UK customers

Edited to add: As of lunchtime today I have sold out of this design! I am waiting on some more fabric so fingers crossed they will be back in my shops soon, I'll keep you posted x

Upstairs Gallery - Textiles Exhibition

The beginning of this year has been busy preparing for the first exhibition of 2012 at Upstairs Gallery. The exhibition runs from next Tuesday 17th January - 18th February. There is a range of fabulous textile artists taking part using a variety of mediums. I will be showing some wall pieces which have been a departure for me and not an easy one! it's one thing putting your designs onto a cushion but another experience entirely presenting it as a piece of art to stand entirely on it's own merits.
I will post photos of a couple of the pieces I have printed once I have had a chance to photograph them properly.

My available blogging time is being sorely tested as I travel with Laura to interviews for her degree course applications, combined with keeping up with orders from my shops and my increasing involvement with the gallery.
