VintageUK
I have a new shop as of today Vintage UK is open for trading on Etsy!
Regular readers will know I am a fan of vintage and i have long pondered the idea of opening another shop to allow me to spend some time sharing finds from here in the UK.
So please stop by and have a look new things will be added in the next few days as time allows, I have already had a lot of international convos so it looks like it may be worthwhile.

Wish me luck!

Greys Court
Today has been a dull old day in the UK so I have made the most of my time sewing up stock for orders and shops. However this evening I remembered some photos I had taken on a day out a couple of weeks ago to Greys Court near Henley on Thames in Oxfordshire. The house is currently under restoration but the gardens are open and I love them. It is one of those gardens with lots of rooms and a kitchen garden.
Peas scrambling up homemade supports of various designs, low and rounded..........

tall and pointy. I always love being able to see the design of the frames, in some ways it is a shame they will eventually be covered by a tangle of branches.

What is that little bird saying?
Look at this little viola house on the old crumbling wall........
and then I found some photos of my garden, the ferns are coming up by my homemade screen. I weave extra bits of silver birch branches into this, which drop from the tree in my neighbours garden. The birds help themselves to it for nest material too!

Tomorrow looks like being another busy sewing day........ hmmmm not a bad life eh?

Cowgirl cushion
I spent quite some time fiddling the letters on Jacobs to place them amongst the Cath Kidston cowboy fabric.
Lots going on here at the moment, teenager doing internal exams (mocks to us oldies), rehearsals for a big summer show, house sale going through, plans for this house being prepared, allotment in full swing, and sewing for a very exciting and lovely event (of which I shall tell you more another day).

Marylebone High Street
Yesterday I was in London in Marylebone High Street on an errand. I had never been to this bit of London before, why I don't really know I used to live in London and as a southerner have been visiting London all my life. It is a great road for shopping with plenty of coffee stops along the way and boasts a wonderful Cath Kidston
Further along there is Emma Bridgewater where the purple and green beakers came from and also the cute flower shaped pan scrubbers. I also paid a visit to Skandium where the staff are so friendly and unlike some designer stores were more than happy for me to browse and enjoy, especially downstairs where the lovely assistant showed me the different scandinavian fabric designers that they stock and gave me a marrimekko brochure to linger over later.
A few wrong turns later and I finally located VV Rouleaux who sell fibbons and trims like you have never seen before! I managed to limit myself to just three purchases but I will definitely be back and have promised to take the girls with me too!

I finally headed down through St Christophers Square to Oxford Street and bought some more wool for my crochet but also found two remnants of Amy Butler fabric which you can just see at the back of my photo.
Before I headed home I popped over to Garrick Street to Cybercandy to pick up some treats for everyone at home. I recommend this to those of you that have kids, don't read the labels this ain't healthy, but it is fascinating and yum!
